I’ll be honest straight up, I’m a huge Lowrider fan, but to be fair, the group have earned my admiration through flawless live performances and brilliant recordings of their unique style of soul infused funk. Converting my friends into fans, as I so often do, is as easy as playing them a couple of songs or taking them to a show, and they are instantly hooked. Following the ARIA nominations ceremony which took place in Sydney yesterday, word came through… Lowrider have received their first ARIA nomination, with their album ‘Round The World’!
In the category of Best Urban Album, Lowrider are up against fellow Illusive artists Bliss N Eso with their album ‘Running On Air’, alongside Urthboy ‘Spitshine’, M-Phazes ‘Good Gracious’ and Space Invadas ‘Soul-Fi’.
The 2010 ARIA Awards will be held at The Sydney Opera House on Sunday, November 7.
Congratulations to M-Phazes who took out the Best Urban Album ARIA for the album Good Gracious… well deserved!
