I’ll be honest straight up, I’m a huge Lowrider fan, but to be fair, the group have earned my admiration through flawless live performances and brilliant recordings of their unique style of soul infused funk. Converting my friends into fans, as I so often do, is as easy as playing them a couple of songs or taking them to a show, and they are instantly hooked. Lowrider took to the stage at about 10:50 and from the first beat the crowd were in raptures. The boys took the roof of the ‘dale and put the capacity crowd in a soul, funk and hip-hop infused trance. Lead singer Joseph effortlessly weaved his magic on the crowd and took the audience on a sonic journey Round The World and back again to the infamous Annandale Hotel that has witnessed many a great night of killer music such as these lads from Adelaide. Lowrider album Round The World

Adelaide R&B quartet Lowrider seem to be able to do no wrong, progressing with every step they take. The last record, 2008’s Diamond Amongst The Thieves, broke the band into the mainstream and let the world know what they are capable of.

With their new release, Round The World, the group have confirmed the fact that they are one of Australia’s hottest acts. A certain level of maturity is expected by the time a band reaches their third album, and it is clear that Lowrider move in leaps and bounds, as the song writing and instrumentation on this album is phenomenal.
